For several years now, CDCL has made sustainable development one of its top priorities. Whether in terms of protecting the environment or improving its social responsibility, CDCL regularly invests in solutions to make a significant contribution. Of course, this requires a great deal of commitment, but above all it demonstrates a desire to be an agent of change. And the recent award of B Corp certification bears witness to this.
Concerned about the impact of our business on the environment, we had already turned to a new construction system combining wood and concrete back in 2018, signing an exclusive partnership with Austrian company CREEbuilding. Thanks to its prefabrication and on-site assembly principle, it not only enabled us to reduce our carbon footprint considerably, but also to manage resources more optimally and significantly increase the energy performance of our buildings by incorporating modern techniques. Acquiring this new know-how also enabled us, through its flexibility and adaptability, to respond to future recommendations and regulations, which are non-negligible factors in an extremely fast-changing world.
On the human front, a whole range of new services and tools has also been developed, to provide even more effective support for our employees and talents in managing their careers, induction, training and well-being, and thus contribute to their motivation. This new dynamic was recognised by the Ministry of Equality in 2021 with the award of the "Positive Actions" label.
Convinced of the relevance of all these reflections and measures taken, we successfully passed the B Corp assessment test, which not only enabled us to see that our actions, our way of working and managing CDCL are in line with the levels of requirements expected by this certification, but above all that they will enable us to make even better key decisions.
Obtaining this certification is of course an important step for CDCL. Beyond the commitment, it underlines a fundamental belief. It opens up new opportunities for innovation and strengthens the confidence of our partners, customers and employees, who are increasingly attentive to the ethical and sustainable values of businesses.
More than just recognition or accreditation, this new certification represents for us a real investment in the future.
B Corp Month is every year in March. These are 31 days of information, conferences, seminars dedicated to the B Corp label and of course also to all the certified B Corps, and there are currently more than 8,000!
