In a constantly evolving world, innovation is essential for building the businesses of tomorrow. With this vision in mind, CDCL has designed and built, for the Ministry of Economy, an incubator in Bissen, an ambitious project combining creativity, dynamism, circularity, and connection. This space has been designed to provide an ideal environment for young businesses and startups looking to grow in a stimulating and sustainable setting.
A collaborative project with committed partners
The construction of this incubator would not have been possible without the active involvement of several key players. CDCL’s teams carried out this project with an innovative and sustainable approach. Several partners also contributed to this project:
- Alleva Enzio Architectes & Associés, who designed a modular and modern space, tailored to the evolving needs of startups.
- Engineering firms AuCARRE and Drees & Sommer, who provided their expertise in integrating sustainable technical solutions.
- Institutional and economic stakeholders, who support this initiative to foster entrepreneurship and local innovation.
A sustainable construction model
From its conception, the Bissen incubator was designed to address current and future environmental challenges. It is based on a CREE hybrid wood-concrete construction, a choice that combines strength and a reduced carbon footprint. Moreover, energy optimization was a priority, featuring:
- Photovoltaic panels to ensure renewable energy production.
- Optimized resource management with a rainwater harvesting system.
- High-performance insulation, ensuring optimal comfort while reducing energy consumption.
- 100% renewable heat, supplied by the Kiowatt district heating network that powers the building.
A strong economic and environmental ambition
This incubator is more than just a workspace: it represents a real opportunity to boost the local economy and encourage job creation. By providing a tailored environment for young businesses and promoting synergies among innovation players, it aims to become a driving force for regional economic development.
From an environmental standpoint, it embodies a new approach to construction, where sustainability and performance go hand in hand. This project is fully in line with CDCL’s commitment to promoting responsible and forward-thinking construction.
A fully operational space ready to welcome its first tenants
The building’s inauguration took place on December 3rd, and several events have already been hosted, including one by Goodyear.
The first tenants will move in starting in March, marking the beginning of a new chapter for innovation and entrepreneurship in Bissen.
